Priscilla Bacon Lodge

Opened in 2023, Priscilla Bacon Lodge is a state-of-the-art purpose-built hospice designed to provide the highest level of care and comfort. Situated on an 8-acre semi-rural site near the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, the Lodge relocated from its original home on Unthank Road, where outstanding care was delivered to thousands of local people for over 40 years.

Core care is provided by Norfolk & Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C). The Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity enhances this care by funding additional services, including:

• Enhanced catering for patients and families
• Patient and family transport
• Specialist equipment to elevate comfort and care
• Art and music therapy to support emotional well-being
• Complementary therapies for holistic care
• Bereavement support for families and loved ones

• Inpatient Centre – modern facilities and capacity for 24 beds. All rooms open onto beautifully landscaped peaceful gardens, and beds can be wheeled outside.
• Family Rooms – designed to allow families, including young children, to stay together in a comfortable setting.
• Day Care and Outpatient Services
• Community Care Hub – for specialist palliative care delivered in the community, in partnership with local hospitals and care homes.
• The Friends Café – open to patients, their loved ones, and the public.
• Education and Seminar Facilities – for training staff, carers and patients.
• Complementary Therapy – holistic treatments for patients.
• Counselling Services – for all age groups and needs.
